Fun on the Fourth

Joy’s family was spending the Fourth of July holiday at a beach house again this year – what fun!  Joy loved all the parades, swimming, boating, fishing, flag-waving and other festivities there, but one thing was very frightening for her.   For some strange reason, she always felt scared watching the fireworks.   Her father even had to give her a blanket to hide under when all the loud colorful fireworks were exploding.  Joy’s mother decided to forego the noisy display this time – she and Joy would have their own celebration with bright sparklers instead.
