Girl Power

“You’re such a shrimp,” the new boy told Joy.  Joy could not tell if he was joking or just being mean-spirited.  But Joy did feel very small indeed and she didn’t know what to say to him.  A girlfriend overheard the conversation and suggested that Joy join a neighborhood girls’ club.  No boys were allowed and all the girls there had fun doing important community projects while learning how to become more self-confident.  Joy took her advice and was very glad she did.  The “Butterfly Sister Society” had the perfect motto for her – “fly high and go far” and Joy intended to do just that!
